As a child, most aspire to be a superhero, fireman, policeman, doctor, teacher...or singer. As you grow up, either reality hits you or you find something better....lately, however, many of my peers are dead set on being a superstar. Let's get one thing straight: I'm your friend, and of course I believe in you! I just believe in you doing something else. Face it, not ALL of you are gonna make it. While we would like to live in this fantasy, it's a gamble. Meaning: its IMPOSSIBLE for all of you to be SUPERSTARS because the industry isn't designed for that.
This brings me to my small town childhood friends.
When it comes to progress, Louisiana sucks. I was there, I know. I'm not saying that they don't make progress, but hey, everyone has their flaws. Houston has a nasty habit of not supporting each other. But nonetheless, coming from a small town, I learned if you wanna have big dreams, that's cool. Have a realistic backup plan. Here's an idea: GO TO COLLEGE.
You don't have too much to lose versus trying to pursue HollyWood with no back up plan. My friend from Louisiana wants to do music, lives in Lake Charles, and envies the fact that I live in Houston now. Dude go to college, your fasfa will cover enough for you to live in houston on campus. At least if you're not a star you're working towards something, you live where you want, and you have access to better oppurtunities. Why stay in the boondocks, dreaming? You wanna make your dreams realized? Baby, you gotta wake up first.
